This year, the prize is an autographed copy of our latest book from Rizzoli, The Art of the House – Reflections on Design. Signed by both Bobby McAlpine and Susan Ferrier, this book is what all the well-dressed coffee tables are wearing this year. This gilt-bound edition features five of our lake houses with five very differing interiors. Since the traditional and modern gifts suggested for a third anniversary are leather and crystal, the interiors found within this book are aptly appropriate for the giveaway this year.
Please leave a comment and you’ll be in the running for this gem. I’ll announce the fortuitous recipient next week.

There is not much I love better than a good book. I would be thrilled to have this one in my library.
I feel fortunate that you share your perspectives and gorgeous photos so regularly. I’d love a copy of the book. Especially as we are just about ready to begin the renovation of our home.
Books are one of my greatest pleasures and yours is one of my favorites.
make that “admirer”…the one time that I needed auto-correct to actually work for me!
I don’t have a copy of this book, either…but it will be my “visiting gift” book when I go to see friends in England in May!
Would love to receive a signed copy of this book! McAlpine Tankersley is one of my favorite and most inspirational design firms. I truly love your body of work.
I follow a number of architectural, fashion, and home furnishing blogs, and I can honestly say there is none I look forward to reading each week than the McAlpine Tankersley blog. Erudite and full of upbeat attitude and beautiful imagery, its a joy to read.
I have had the privilege of visiting some of the Bobby McAlpine homes in Nashville, as well as work on garden projects as at two of the houses. It is always a treat!
I have been meaning to pick up a copy of the book. A signed copy would be even better! I enjoy the blog. Great work!
I enjoy this blog, your prose as well as your pictures. I find it a midweek respite from the uncurated bounty around us.
Pick Me! Pick Me! I could peruse your fabulous work anytime!
I left a hint for Santa Claus stating I would love to receive your latest book, which I did not receive, so perhaps I will win it instead.
Thank you for your inspiring, creative work.
Pat
Would love a signed copy of your book!
What a wonderful Valentine to treasure!
A wonderful Treasure to cherish!
This book is on my wish list, so I would love to win an autographed copy. I am soon to build another home and would be inspired, as always, by your beautiful projects, even though sadly, mine will not be on a lake. Always enjoy your posts.
Fantastic! On our coffee table it would remain in a MCAT designed domicile…or perhaps it would be most appropriate to present as a gift to the Library at the Rome Center.
Bellissimo!
Always enjoy your blog! What a fantastic book to put on my coffee table…it would cherished!
Love your designs and your presentation of what we consider “Home”.
Keep up the good work.

My coffee table is terribly under dressed, this book would be a wonderful accessory. Love all y’all’s wonderful work, so inspiring.
Greg and all, have enjoyed the blog!
I’ve read a lot about the book & think it would be a delight to own. Will keep my fingers crossed on this one.
Dear friends at McAlpine Tankersley Architecture,
I have read each blog post since your auspicious beginning, thoroughly enjoy all your posts in Instagram, and am the proud owner of Bobby’s first book. I also live in Nashville and have several friends who are smart enough to live in one of your homes. Sadly, the Finding Home book is not on my shelf, and my family did not get my loud hints about the book at Christmas this year. I would be beyond thrilled to win an autographed copy!
*** I meant Art of the House***! Argh! Trying to comment while driving, my bad!
Always look forward to your wonderful projects and insights!
i already have a copy – which I found in a wonderful home design shop here in Hudson, NY – but would love an autographed copy! And I’d give my other copy to my local library so everyone could enjoy these beautiful interiors! Love the blog, Greg!
McAlpine Tankersley’s body of work has long been a favorite of mine …. up there right alongside Robert A.M. Stern’s. Continue the wonderful projects with your unique blend of modern/classic, casual/formal that also is emotionally attached to the clients’ needs, tastes, & desires. Following your blog gives me a more welcoming, personal, behind-the-scenes dialogue about the process of how the firm accomplishes this. Best wishes from your fan and a self-described “frustrated architect”! Johnny Rowland
Congratulations! Thanks for taking the time in your busy schedule to share your musings and the work of your amazing team with us here in the general public, and for always making it feel like a warm welcome. The book is on my wish list, and it would be such a delight to have a wish come true!
Thank you in advance for the book!
I have long admired the work of your firm and feel fortunate to read your blog each week. It’s thought provoking indeed. I’d treasure this book in my collection, and look forward to finding it one way or another!
My coffee table would be proud to display your book!
your gorgeous book would elevate any coffee table! Wish it would find mine!
I am grateful I stumbled upon this blog but sad that I missed two years worth! I love your lyrical writings and details that you share, plus the translation into words of the emotions intended and conveyed so beautifully in pictures. Adding the words amplified the feelings. I also like that Greg responds to his twitter comments! @zjen
As an interior designer I always look forward to reading your blog for architectural and interior design inspiration….but there’s nothing like curling up on the couch, pouring through the pages of beautiful a design book!
Love your blog!
Hope I win! *fingers crossed* 🙂
PS> I love the sentiments you share in your blog. Been following along for a couple of years now.
So glad I found your blog. I love everything that yall do!
I have always wanted to build a house and knew yall would do my plans if it ever came to be. The next best thing is to enjoy seeing your works in print and occasionally in person.

This book would be as close as I’ll ever come to “owning” some of your work! I look forward to your sporadic posts and musings on life, (decorative) art and architecture, and how each are intertwined.

I would LOVE to receive your book! Your work is amazing!

I look forward to all you Posts, now that your Mom suggested I might like to read them. Of course I did and enjoy reading all of them! I’ve known of your talent since you were about three or four years old and I am not surprised of the success you have had using that talent! Very proud of you Greg! I would be happy to buy one of the books you are giving away. I have the perfect place for it…to share with others and to continue enjoying it, myself.

This beautiful would look beautiful on my coffee table and be admired by all my guest.
Congratulations on your anniversary. Linda
Had the opportunity to see so many beautiful McAlpine Tankersley homes in Nashvillle last week. What gracious hosts you all were! I felt like I was walking into a canvas of living painting. I would love the book not only to reflect on the experience, but to share with my son who is about to graduate from UVA’s architecture program. Wiser men than me one said, the greatest gift you can give is inspiration. For us, it would be more than a book, but seeds for a young mind to plant new roots and to share with his architecture professors in Virginia. We have given copies of some McAlpine books to his professors at UVA and they have been astounded at the work you all are doing.
I greatly admire your work and would love to have a signed copy of your book. I would also be the first in line to apply should you expand McAlpine Tankersley to Nashville.
Love your practical approach to life and design. Quite often I am moved to read your blog out loud to my husband who up until now would not be interested in a design blog. But you write with style and common sense. Thank you.
Love everything you do and your blog is a great inspiration to me.
I have been an admirer of your firm from the old school magazine days to the current social media era. I love your work!
Thank you to you Greg and everyone on the amazing teams you all have!!!
Your blog brings with it a truth found in the obvious love of your craft!!!
Bobby and Susan’s book is truth set lyrically to life for all of us to share. And I must confess, I am better for having read it.
Brad

Pick me! Pick me!!
Oh, please pick me….I love you guys.
I already have this beautiful book. I only wish we could have our lakeside cottage on Deep Creek Lake in Garrett County, MD updated and redesigned by you!
I am one of your readers from the other 133 countries.
I read and enjoy your blog for your gentle, understated ,”throwaway ” sense of humour ( British?) and, of course , the wonderful architecture and pictures of interiors!
Thank you, Greg!
Kind regards,
Shirley Henderson
Love your blog and would love this book on my coffee table!
Love your work! Love your blog!
I found this blog after seeing Bobby’s “Cabin” for sale in Nashville a few years ago – perfection! So I called the listing agent and asked “Dionne, who is this vision – qu’est-ce que c’est cette vision?” And in that moment I knew… I knew, that someday we’d up like this, like some glittering Doris Day/Rock Hudson extravaganza. I said to Dionne, “Dionne, I’m in love. Could this siren love me, are the gods be that kind?”
Thank you for the continued inspiration.
Already read your book and loved it! The only thing that could make it better….autographs:)
I would enjoy this book very much, pass it on to a friend, and then ask for it back. 🙂

I would love to have a copy of the new book. Keep up the inspirational architecture, to the glory of the triune Creator!
One day not long ago I gathered my old dog-eared magazine pages up thinking I needed a purge. A sort of editing to really hone in on my taste. I had no idea that over half my torn out pages were your fabulous work. I guess your aesthetic is so inspiring I unintentionally gravitated to your design. A great discovery. ART of the House would be a perfect addition to my shelf. XOXO Lisa
My husband is from Montgomery, and he first showed me a McAlpine Tankersley home there. I’ve been a fan ever since.
I already own a copy of this delightful book and it is in fact on my coffee table! But I would love one that’s autographed!
There is ‘maybe’ one home in Omaha that might be close to something you might design. Your blog is so inspirational to me who wishes she lived closer to that areas where one might be fortunate to ‘drive by’ a home design by you! Please continue your inspirational blog!
Love.

It is always so much fun to see each of your projects!
Thanks “kids” for all of your truly inspiring works all of these years. I’ve been a fan since I stumbled upon my first issue of Southern Accents and first saw your work in there 20+ years ago. ( It was the house in Charlotte commissioned for the gal that operates Circa I believe).
